Openbay is an online automotive services platform that connects automotive service professionals with vehicle owners and fleets in need of immediate repair and maintenance services. Openbay is also referred to as an automotive services marketplace.
Openbay aims to simplify the process of finding reliable and cost-effective automotive services by providing a centralized platform to shop for services. With Openbay, vehicle owners compare service providers nearby and can book an appointment based on personal preferences: pricing, location, availability, amenities, and customer ratings and reviews.
Users enter details about their vehicle and service need or describe a problem they’re experiencing with their vehicle. Multiple service providers nearby are presented to the user. Pricing, customer ratings and reviews, amenities, and appointment availability are presented for selection by the user. Service appointments are booked directly through the platform. A history of all services booked through Openbay are maintained for each vehicle in the user’s account.
Service providers need to apply to become part of the network of automotive service providers. To join as a service provider, visit the Openbay website footer under, 'For Service Professionals' to begin the application process.
There are several requirements to become a service provider on Openbay. Baseline requirements are the business must be insured. Must be ASE, Manufacturer or Mechanical certified or otherwise qualified to perform the services. Must have been in business for six months. Must offer parts and/or service warranty. If Openbay has adequate coverage in a given area, the application will be placed on a wait list.
There are several requirements to become a service provider on Openbay. See baseline requirements in the previous question. Once approved to become part of the network of service providers, you will be able to list all your services on Openbay.
Yes. Once approved, service providers can create a profile and list their services through the provider dashboard on Openbay. This includes detailing services offered and setting pricing.
Responding to service requests from vehicle owners are handled automatically by Openbay. Using pricing information from your business combined with Openbay’s algorithm for generating price estimates, all necessary information required for a vehicle owner to make a decision on a provider is delivered to the user.
Your business takes payment direct from the customer for all services delivered.
Openbay earns a modest 'flat' fee for each customer that books their service through Openbay and completes their service at your business. A flat fee means no matter the final amount of the customer invoice, the fee does not change. For details, please contact Openbay.
